Synopsis:
Viewers look for two diverse kinds of entertainment- one, when there is a ‘willing suspension of disbelief’ and two, when there is a realistic touch to every nuances of the artistic form. Children especially are taken over by the first category. They allow themselves to be transported to another world that is devoid of human scent. Ethereal beings and unbelievable drama have a universal appeal among kids all over the world. For many years they have been drawing pleasure by gaping at the incredible stunts of Super Man, Spider Man, Bat Man, He Man, Shakthi Man.
Surprisingly these entertainers are usually Super Heroes who have been created in a foreign land and are placed in foreign localities. Hence we plunged on a mission to create a uniquely native yet universally appealing Super Character for our audiences. So here comes a change from Pyramid Saimira in the form of a Super Woman- fittingly called “Super Sundari”, encompassing with her, nativity, culture, intelligence, humour and of course special powers.
“Super Sundhari” is the typical woman from an ordinary middle class Tamil family who would don different roles to entertain children. She is lively and agile and is played by none other than Uma Riaz, the popular dancer, actor and mimicry artiste.
It is a children’s drama that comes to fill the gap left vacant by a dearth of quality, entertaining, kids’ shows.
Director Mohan, famed for his work in churning out hilarious sitcoms, directs “Super Sundhari”. He was a part of popular projects such as “Chellamadi Nee Enakku”, and the trend-setting comedy serial “Chinna Paappa Periya Paappa”. Screenplay is by Writer Gopinath who has penned dialogues for the small screen as well as the big screen.
Actress Nalini, Arvindh, Maran and popular child artistes Shabia, Sachin Dingra, Chanakya and Varsha play the other main roles.
