Pyramid Saimira Production International Ltd launched its Tamil feature film ‘Aanandham Aarambham’ in Chennai on Oct 9, 2008, with a pooja and a shooting stint at the Kamarajar Arangam.
This film is being launched in association with Ramanathan of Raaj Films International, who has produced a large number of films.
Educationist, Jeppiar, the founder of Satyabhama deemed university, lit the traditional lamp on the occasion. Among those present for the launch were Pyramid Saimira group chairman and managing director P S Saminathan, the hero and heroine of the film, Atharvaa and Sruthi, actors Murali (father of Atharvaa), Vijayakumar, Manorama, Prabhu, Ambika, Anand Babu, and young actor Shantanu, and music director of the film, Sundar C. Babu, director - Vishnu Shankaran, cameraman - Dinesh Kumar, editor - M S Surya and stunt director - Super Subbarayan.
The function was chaired by Ramanarayanan, president, Tamil Film Producers Council.
Pyramid Saimira group chairman and managing director P S Saminathan, in his introductory address, said the film industry gets a fillip only when new talent gets opportunities and they in turn propel the industry and take it forward. History is replete with instances of how young blood had managed to infuse life and energy into the industry and give it dynamism. He was sure that new director Vishnu Shankaran, Atharvaa and Sruthi would be successful and lend more strength to the film industry.
Celebrities who graced the occasion were ace directors Bharathiraja, Bhagayraj, Sidhalingaiya, P Vasu and Raja and actor Radha Ravi, secretary of the South Indian Film Artistes Association, and producers V Dhanu, T G Thyagarajan and R B Chaudhary, who offered their felicitations.
Office-bearers of the Tamil Film Producers Council led by Anbalaya Prabhakaran, Sivasakthi Pandiyan, K Muralidharan, Khaja Moideen and others felicitated the cast and crew of the film.
Ramanathan of Raaj Films International thanked the Pyramid Saimira group for its support to the film industry, especially veteran producers, who could not make films for some years for various reasons.
Radha Ravi said Pyramid Saimira group and its CMD P S Saminathan deserved a special word of praise for encouraging films with medium budgets and without depending on stars to sell their films. The group provided numerous opportunities to new faces and this was a welcome trend.
